imageOne of our most popular posts several months ago was on web conferencing. The ability to host virtual conferences and meetings is crucial to telecommuters and virtual workers. Some of the newest available are Meeting Mix and Google Wave.

While Meeting Mix is not for webinars or conferencing, it is useful for controlling the topics discussed and the length of time spent on each. Create your agenda, take minutes and with the action items, each attendee is aware of what they are responsible for.

Google Wave, still in preview and available by invitation, is a group of collaborative tools, all of which are accessible in one place. It can be used as a document or a conversation, with private or public responses, all in real time. “Waves” are editable and content can be added by the participants.

Teams can work together on documents and add video, photos, maps and more. Discuss projects in real time and create drafts that can be edited by various members of your group without creating multiple copies. Google Wave has some extensions already built in and will add more in the future. Request your invitation to Google Wave here.
